 A Recent Friday...

In Metropolis, a window washer was eating his lunch on a platform fifty stories high. As he took a bite of his sandwich, the scaffolding began to creak and groan; before he could react, the whole structure came loose from the building, taking him toward an almost certain death.

Suddenly, a golden lasso flew past his eyes, grabbing and halting the platform, and causing his safety harness to jerk to a stop. As he looked up, he could see a figure coming out of the sun, reaching down to him. He put his hand in front of his eyes to block the glare, seeing an awesome pair of black high heeled boots go past, followed by what looked like the famous red, white and blue costume, but with black instead of blue, and a silver eagle emblem on her chest instead of gold.

He was grabbed by a pair of tiny but strong hands enclosed in shiny red, and felt the metal bracelets around each of her wrists. He looked into the face of his savior, a kind face wearing a platinum tiara, a deep platinum choker covering her whole throat, and fiery red star-shaped earrings, and said, "Thanks...Wonder Woman?!" He was puzzled, because her face didn't look at all like the Amazon with whom he was familiar. Then he knew, as he recognized the steely features, even though they were now feminine.

Superman flew down to the street, cradling the man, and gently lowering the platform so that no damage or injuries occurred. As soon as she was sure that the broken structure was secure, she landed and released the man she had saved.

DC:CD The Deeper Changes: Lost in Space

The following story contains characters owned by DC Comics/Warner Bros. It is written as a fanfic parody story not intended to affect any use of actual story lines in published books. The story is purely for fun, with no profit to be made by the authors.

Aboard Mariner 16, a deep space exploratory vessel to the planet Mars, on a mission that in this reality was fully supported for the enrichment of the human race, three astronauts were relaxing, thinking about the work they'd accomplished and how good it would be to return home. While it would have been a simple matter to merely ask the superheroes for assistance, the Martian Manhunter in particular in this case, the need for actual human exploration was the deciding factor in staging this mission. This viewpoint had also funded the International Space Station, which became operational many years earlier in this reality. It had been a long and tiring trip, and the men were getting cabin fever as the ship approached the halfway point on the return leg. Each one was preparing their personal message home for family, which was to be sent via a laser relay on the Moon, then home, once they got a bit closer.

The crew cabin, at the front of the long and slender spacecraft, was spinning slowly about a central axle to give the astronauts a sense of gravity and keep their muscles from atrophying on the journey. Commander Talbot Harrison, USN, was strapped into his seat at the engineering panel along the right side of the cabin. He had to occasionally flip his black hair from his eyes, as he'd let it grow atypically long during this mission, with a ponytail securing the now longish hair on back of his head. An experienced spacefarer with twenty years in NASA, Tallie was in his mid-fifties but looked no older than forty-five. With all the systems functioning per spec, he was letting the computer do the checks as he worked on his personal message.

Major Pete Rogers, USMC, was at the control console. He was the youngster of the crew, so to speak, with *only* twelve years of Space Shuttle and ISS crew time prior to this mission. Pete was a tall and thin Marine, with a physique typical of that force. He kept his sandy blonde hair in a tight crew cut, and was in the process of unstrapping from his seat to move over to the computer on which he was composing his notes.

Justice League of America - TG: In the End, Justice No More

The following story contains characters owned by DC Comics/Warner Bros.  It is written as a fanfic parody story not intended to make any use of actual story lines in published books.  The story is purely for fun, with no profit to be made by the author.  It is free to be archived on any site wishing to do so, provided the author is given proper credit.

This story is set up with the characters as they were existing in the JLA comics prior to the upheaval in DC stories called Crisis on Infinite Earths, with two major exceptions.  I have Clark Kent married to Lois Lane, something that should have happened prior to Crisis but didn’t actually happen until a decade later.  I also have the original Wonder Woman villainess, Cheetah, and not the newer replacement for her who debuted in 1980.

Metropolis...

Early Sunday morning, the sun was shining brightly through the bedroom window of Clark Kent and Lois Lane in beautiful downtown Metropolis.  The two had only just been married a month earlier, and Lois was still using her own last name because of the fame associated with it.  Almost anybody reading the newspaper would recognize the name Lois Lane, but if Lois Kent were to appear in a byline, it would probably be passed by without a thought.  On any given work day, both would have been up and out of the apartment long before the sun was blasting through the window, but this was Sunday, and they were sleeping in.  Or, were intending to.

Clark suddenly sat up in the bed, dragging bed sheet and blanket with him, alert to an ultrasonic signal that was way out of his wife’s hearing range, but hit him like a sonic battering ram.  He tried to get out of the bed without disturbing Lois, but she had been roused when he first woke with a start and yanked the covers off her.  “What’s wrong, Clark?” Lois asked, as she watched him changing into his blue and red costume in a blur.

A Tale from the Green Lantern Corps: Changing Ownership

The following story contains characters owned by DC Comics/Warner Bros. It is written as a fanfic parody story not intended to make any use of actual story lines in published books. The story is purely for fun, with no profit to be made by the author.

For those not eminently familiar with the DC comic book character Green Lantern, until a few years ago, this character was a test pilot named Hal Jordan. He was given a ring by a dying Green Lantern, since he was determined to be the most fearless person in this quadrant of space. This ring, powered by a Green Lantern of energy from the planet Oa, given by the Guardians of the Universe, enabled him by force of will to form green constructs of anything his mind could picture, to fight whatever enemy or problem that arose.

His girlfriend, the daughter of the owner of the aircraft manufacturer he flew for, was Carol Ferris. In issue #16 of the Green Lantern comics, appearing way back in the early sixties, Carol was invited by an alien race of super women called the Zamarons to be their new Queen. Their Queen was always selected from anywhere in the universe that they could find a woman looking exactly like their dying or dead Queen. They gave her the identity of Star Sapphire to fight Green Lantern, and prove to her that he was unworthy of her love. Over the ensuing years, Carol would occasionally become Star Sapphire again due to one circumstance or another, always vexing GL.  SZ

 * * * * *

Green Lantern was away from Coast City, working with the Justice League of America on a problem they were taking care of in Europe. The JLA had been called in because an alien race had picked Paris to base their mineral processing (read earth sucking) operations while they analyzed the Earth for possible takeover. Superman and Wonder Woman were doing the heaviest of the work in curtailing the aliens, while Green Lantern used his ring to block their rays from contact with the ground. Flash, Batman, Hawkman and the Blue Beetle were doing what they could to aid in mopping up operations.

While Hal was away with the JLA, his old enemy, the renegade Green Lantern named Sinestro, came to Coast City expecting to find his old foe and once again engage him in battle. When he discovered that GL was not in town, Sinestro thought of ways to vex Green Lantern on his return, since he didn't want to wait around for him. Then the ideal solution came to him.

JLA: Strange Artifacts - Wizardry

Gotham City

Superman had alerted Batman to the one object known to be descending upon Gotham City, and Batman had already found out the hard way what that object had been. Both Batman and Robin were now identical copies of their friend, Selina Kyle. In effect, there were now three identical, yet different, Catwomen.

The recovering but still blockaded Gotham City was hardly the impact point for only one ejected trophy room display, however.

Gotham was divided into defined zones, ruled over by one criminal mastermind or another, the beleaguered GCPD, and various members of the Bat team. Azreal and the new Batgirl were holding their own, and actually improving relations among the denizens of their zone, while Batman had struggled with the help of Robin in theirs. With both heroes now transformed into perfect copies of Catwoman, the situation there may be in for a change.

After giving up her role as the past new Batgirl, Huntress decided to give in and work with Nightwing in another zone. All worked via the coordination given by Oracle, the original Batgirl from way back when, who still kept her computer center operable.
